Did anyone notice white pimple-like bumps on their nipples (especially visible when nipples are hard) before they found out they were pregnant or is this normal for women, even when not pregnant? Because I never noticed these bumps before. My nipples are also hard 24/7, they probably go down for like 20 minutes everyday but then they are hard for the rest of the day. This is not normal for me, my nipples have never been hard continously like this. They are also sore off and on. So has anyone ever noticed these changes and later found out they were pregnant?

Actually it's a normal part of nipples. They're called Montgomery glands and they serve to moisturize nipple tissue. The oils that they secrete will help protect your tissue when the baby starts breastfeeding.

They will be more noticeable when you're pregnant because of hormonal changes. Also when the nipple is erect because the tissue around the glands contracts, while the gland itself does not. This can also be caused by changes in temperature. Being that it's winter, that's not too surprising.

And just so you know, they're noticeable even on non-pregnant women. Just depends on how you were built.

Nothing to worry about.

Yes i did notice that when i was pregnant. But even later in life i have noticed it during or before my menstration. The white pimple looking things are milk ducts, it's your body changes each cycle preparing as if there is a baby even if there is not one. once u have ur period they usually go away for a while. and the hardning of the nipples is also hormonal...arent women lucky to have all this crap hhahahaha

I had bumps like that on my nipples before i was pregnant.. and they seem the same since being pregnant. The only breast difference I noticed when pregnant was swollen and VERY tender early on.. like from 2 weeks to 16 weeks. Hope that helped.. Good Luck!

It is normal for all women to get them(small white bumps) when not PG.(lol) It has to do with milk glands or so thats what my doctor told me. As for you nipples being hard it could be hormones. i would see my doctor if I was you . It could be fiber cist in your breast. They are very pain at times.

Are you asking if this a symptom of pregnancy? These are the milk ducts forming, perfectly normal in puberty and later in pregnancy.
