personally i think it's a wonderful plan. i mean just look at vietnam... we kept adding more troops, and everything changed! we won the war and everyone lived happily ever after! right?

maybe we should have a mandatory random draft for ALL healthy people, male and female. i guarantee this war wouldn't be happening if bush and his cronies had their sons and daughters dodging missiles in the desert.

I think going into iraq was the biggest mistake. Bush is a warlord. He ****** up there. But...I do think the only thing to do right now is increase troop levels. Bottom line is: We can't do the same thing we've been doing. Iraq is falling apart right now and something has to be done. We can not pull out. Pulling out will leave Iraq to the insurgents and will be a huge problem for us and the world in the future. So the only possible thing we can do right now is increase troop levels. Good move Bush

I really don,t know what to think but hes our President and im sure hes doing his best,we just need to stand behind him..I have to tell you something about vietnam however,yes we added more troops and everything changes and we won, but everyone did not live happily ever after No! I don,t know how old you are but I know I am older than you because I remember the vietnam war and those poor men that came out of that war...They were tramatized,shaken,emotionally disturbed....The Veterans were let down by us terriblely,they were given no treatment for their mental conditions...They still suffer with terrible mental problems,they came out of that war and our people looked on these men with disgust,they were treated terrible...My husband had his friends brains blown into his face,hes still nervous,and you should see the poor guys that are out at the veterans hospital,and back then the veterans hospital would not take those men for treatment,they do now but back then they didn,t..I don,t mean to gross you out all I am trying to stress that our men give their lives and suffer mental conditions during these war times,and when they do come home let us all realize what these men have been through and they deserve our respect and let us treat them better than we did out vietnam vets...You may not know this because you may be young...But we have to pray for our men and our President that we can do our job and get out of there....Thank you for your concern!

Adding 20,000 more troops, that's just like throwing more gas on a fire, it's only going to make matter's worse, do you honestly think it's going to change anything , that will just anger them more over there,( more car bombs) more killing, for the most part they don't want us there to begin with! ( their's just too many radicals there) to really make a difference, this is not a one time solution, they have to think long term.

USA never won the vietnam war, what history class did you take? That's a wrong move right there. how many years have passed but the situation is getting worse by the day, if anything U S civilians are dying, is that what you want to happen to those 20,000 pple

and plus, in vietnam the U.S. mainly fought the vietnameese...
in iraq, you got a neverending supply of militants/fighters from neighboring countries
My prediction: the troops will go in, a lot of lifes will be lost, the next president will be elected on a total-withdrawl platform

i don't think anybody should be over there. i don't want my husband to die while he is there either...i worry more about his mental health than any other injury too, i want my sweet husband to come home like the man who left me not who he could potentially become.
