water is key, your getting backed up due to there not being enough water/moister to package and move everything along, fiber is important but if you don't drink enough water, your going to havea serious pie up, see a doctor too after all that what they are here for, but i betch you if you start drinking more fluid you should be moving freely sooner.

You can eat more natural fruits...like raisins, grapes, cherries. Add more fiber into your diet. Raisins and grape juice usually work within 24 hours for most people. You can also buy a laxative at a local drug store...they usually take quite a while to work...and also you never know where you will be when they will kick in. Fruit and good eating are a good natural and controllable effect on your bowels. Good Luck!

increase your liquids to 96oz a day
eats fibre and veggies
avoid constipating foods like bananas, cheese, milk/dairy
increase your activity (walking)
do not ignore the urge to go...go when mother nature calls because the main function of the colon is water reabsorption (so the longer your stool is ion the colon, it gets drier and drier and harder and harder to pass....wallah...you are constipated!

if your trouble continues, you may need to be evaluated for Hirschprungs or another bowel disorder
good luck

Make it a pratice by visiting the toilet early in the morning, normally they say is more easier to have a good bowel movement, and whitebread with more magarine, so that it will lubricate the colon and make the stool more easier to pass out. Then repeat the cycle.

Watch your dairy intake. To much cheese is not good either. You could take a teaspoon of Castor oil every few days or so. That oughta fix you right up. It's in the pharmacy section of most any store.
