Minimum wage will ruin our economy, says the Republicans. Yet, they never fail to unanimously pass bills that gave them all raises every year. Why is this? What is there justification for giving themselves raises all the time?

What did the Democrats in Congress turn in their raises?
70 cents an hour 40 hours a week 52 weeks a year equals $1456 per employee, not including the half of social security that your employers pays into your check and the cost of workers compensation that is based on wages paid out. So you $1456 dollars a year cost your employer somewhere around $1700 per employee. Not including the increased prices he pays for materials for his business. How many employees where you work? Ten, twenty?
You think your employer is going to eat $17000 for his ten employees? No he is going to raise prices and may lay off personel. The real question is what happens to the person who was making more than minimum wage? His dollar will be worth less. This will not harm upper middle class or upper class people as much as the man one step above minimum wage.

If you have a small company with 8 employees that are barely making it. Now they have to pay their help more. They have several choices, lose their small business because they can't afford it, lay off some of the employees, or raise their prices that YOU pay. Now big business can undercut them so they go out of business anyway and 8 people are now unemployed.
Which choice do you suggest?

They claim that they have even more responsibility an a CEO and they earn a 10th of what they earn.
I remember when they raised it 0.25 in Canada. The price of gas increased. Next thing you know, all the staples ( bread, eggs, milk) went up by about that much.

What raises are you talking about? Minimum wage wont help anything it will just increase prices, you'll see, more money=higher prices. But its ok, as long as the Dems pass money to curb its influences on small business.

because raising congresses pay...not just republicans...does not affect the country as a whole as the minimum wage increase would...

Because they think the poor working people must be the 'wrong kind of people'. They think that either they don't vote or they will vote Democrat, and they don't think people without a lot of money matter at all. They are wrong.
