It will show you which McD's have the free hotspots, and also non-affiliated free hotspots too. You could just wander around town with your DS WiFi set up screen up searching for signals until you find an open one. I found a lot of open ones around my city that aren't on nintendo's site that I can use too.

It's illegal, and if you get caught, you're going to jail. It's call stealing.

There's no way you can get access to the access point unless you know the password.

Why don't you save yourself the trouble and just get a wireless router unless you don't have high speed internet access, in which case, it's time to upgrade.

Access points are only good up to a distance, so if I gave you my password, it would be useless to you unless you live near where I live.
