How much do you know about a normal high school day? When your teenager comes home from school do you ask them if anyone harassed them? Do you ask did they get into any disagreements? If you answered no to both of these questions and you are a concerned parent, maybe you should consider sitting with your teen and talking about their life.

"do you ask him or her" "Do you ask if (not did) they got..."

"talking about his or her life." Teen is singular, so the correct way is to say "his or her" not "their" -- "their" is plural. However, more people are using "their" now in this situation, but to be absolutely correct, you use "his or her."
