the worlds destiny: they say that in about 5,000,000,000 years the sun will be burnt out.
that is time enough for us to develop interstellar space flight, which might already be possible in 5,000 years or a bit earlier
Even when the sun destroys our planet - that doesn't mean the end of human life, because we would be able to leave our planet long before it happens.
The English scientist Aubrey de Grey has told that in about 25 years they will have remedies against aging.
If that becomes reality - which can be guessed - then humans could live hundreds or perhaps thousands of years (if there are no wars or accidents).
we could and we would probably travel to other solar systems and we would find out the secrets of the universe

Nothing is happening to the world's destiny. Why? Because it is not the world that shape and decide for us. It is we as its' inhabitants that decide it's destiny. Like war in Iraq, if Bush never existed, we may not go to the war and the oil prices may not even hike up that high. Vice versa if Saddam Hussein wasn't its president, may be Bush can concerntrate in sustaining and expanding the US economy. Or less war.

Billions and billions of years from now our son, SOL, will begin to die. As it becomes a Red Giant it will expand farr into earths orbit. The planet will be destroyed. It will probabally be long devoid of life. The Evolutionary cycle of the Homo-Sapien Species is only 50 million years. We will long be extinct regardless of any effort to the contrary, who knows what will happen to Earth once man is gone and no longer clouds it's journey?
