I think the Chargers will win. They're at home and they will be so fired up because they had the best record in the league plus the league MVP and yet people are counting them out against New England. They'll be looking for some respect and i think they're going to clobber the Pats. Florida was in a similar situation with Ohio State. The Gators were getting no respect and people were saying they didn't deserve to be there and it should've been Michigan. We all saw what happened in that game!

It's just that, though the Patriots weren't spectacularly awesome in the regular season, the Pats and Tom Brady always have a knack for coming up big in the playoffs. Plus, Philip Rivers actually has been struggling lately in the past 5 games of the regular season. No one noticed because of a guy named LT. But the Tom Brady is too much for any defense when he's in playoff mode.

Don't worry... next weekend they will be jumping on the Peyton Manning bandwagon to take his next step to get to the Super Bowl just to have his dream stomped by the Chargers too.

Patriots are old. Great recent history, but too old and too slow. They will worry about LT, but will get a guy by the name of Michael Turner shoved down their pie hole this weekend. LT will be a slot wideout and their linebackers will be chasing LT all over the field in pass coverage, only to get Antonio Gates blasting their small safeties with his size 10 helmet.

Old *** Rodney Harrison will come off of injury, try to pump up his "old" comrades, just to get his ribs crushed in by a full speed ahead 6 foot 7, 285 pound Gates running right thru his injured body.

Brady? He won't be able to breathe... even when he thinks he will have a chance to breathe he will not be able to breathe. The Pats have no answer in the middle for Jamal Williams. None. The center on the Patriots (not very good) will not be able to handle him by his lonesome. Double team him, and you will get Igor and Luis Castillo with pressure up the middle. Double any more people in the interior line and you will get Merriman and Phillips on the outside.

The writers are good... everyone is being nostalgic, but the Patriots run... is over. If all teams stayed good forever.. we'd still be talking about the 70's Steelers and the 80's 49ers. All good things must come to an end. This is where the Patriots will hand over the baton to the new dynasty. Hype the Patriots all they want... that's ok... well deserved. There will just be a lot of sad people on Sunday writing articles about the end of an era.

I'm glad that "they" have switched sides, because the Chargers' bandwagon, that evryone had jumped on this year, was getting too crowded.

Phillip Rivers has been able to rest his wheels, which will help his mobility tremendously.

The O line gives Rivers plenty of time, and L.T. plenty of holes.

L.T. 'Nuff said.

Gates is too much for any one player to cover.

The D line is not suspect, as stated above; and what team has linebackers, anchored by Merriman, as good as the Chargers?

Jammer is having a career year.

Kaeding has been consistantly awesome. The punter is pretty good, too; the few times in a game he is needed.

Chargers shall win!

Schottenheimer, Rookie Quarterback, suspect Defense, terrible history of falling apart in playoffs ...

Oh, and also: Tom Brady the top big-game QB in the game, Bill Bellichek, a resurgent defense and a squad of playoff hardened veterans.

If the Chargers are Cinderella, this is where the slipper shatters and she gets gang raped by an army of angry football fans.

Patriots win 24-13, and its not that close.

enough of the east coast bias, already.
they've had their chance, and there's NO way the Pats want this more than the Chargers do. there's too much riding on this, does anyone actually think they'll get eliminated right away?
the Chargers killed them last year, at the Patriots home, mind you.

Chargers are still favorites by 5.
check it.

It's football. Anything could happen on Sunday.

The "expert predictions" that I've read are evenly split between going with the Chargers' talent or with Bill Bellicheck's brains. It should be a great game.

well they said they might lose only because of 2 things that pats will try to do

1. Stop the run, shutting down LT
2. Distracting Phillip Rivers, Stopping the passing game, rushing him more, more pressure

They're all hopping on the Tom Brady/Bill Belicheck bandwagon. I'm still ridin with LT, Marty Ball, and San Diego.

The Chargers will own. Rivers, Gates, Tomlinson on offense, Edwards, Merriman and Phillips on defense. No contest.
