If you own a swimming pool (above or below ground) you are allowed to top it up with the hose however I am not allowed to fill up a SMALL (about 100cm diameter) blow up pool for my kids to splash around in???? Your even allowed to wash your roof but no blow up pool ???? Does that seem very unfair??

Very unfair. Long hot summer ahead too. I know SE Qld'rs used to be able to water the garden with buckets at certain times. Maybe there is provision for something similar for blow up pools. Seems crazy to have to fill it up with buckets though, same effect. The beach is not really a good option for many locations in brisneyland.

I was back there for christmas and water levels seemed pretty dire. If it gets much worse people will have to start buying their water in shops. Drinking. Showering. Everything.

I think people who have pools have to have five water saving devices also installed to be allowed to top it up. I could be wrong but have heard that they include a cover, water tank for topping up, etc. How about installing a water tank? Then you can use that water for whatever you like. Hmm, expensive I know. How about popping down the local public pool? Got any neighbours with a pool? How about getting the kids to help "water the garden with buckets". They "may" get a little wet in the process, but you can't make fun illegal ;-)

It doesn't seem to make much sense. But then there may be some valid or political reason for it.
