That's what the Marines say. It's their slogan. It's a good one.

For those who don't know what the Marines have to do with it, the DI's (Drill Instructors) tell this to the recruits during training. It gets their mind off the pain and gets the recruits through their training.

No. Pain is the body expressing that something is wrong. There are different kinds of pain, just as there are different reasons, sicknesses / diseases or injuries that cause it. Sometimes certain trauma causes expected pain. But unless your female and concerned about your monthly, go see a doctor, and even then, see a doctor anyway. If it bothers you, ASK.

I just glanced at the other answers, someone want to enlighten me on what marines have to do with this?

Pain is your body's way of signaling that there is a change or problem with your body. Listen to it. That said, overcoming pain, when necessary, is a strength.

No, pain is your nerve endings being stimulated in such a way as to cause discomfort. Weakness isn't a 'thing' that 'leaves', it's a condition.

Pain is your body letting you know that what you are doing is lame and it is totally not going to stand by and let you do this lame thing without consequence.
