First, there is no chance the Bush wrote that speech, and second, for those of you saying that Presidents never wrote their speeches, are you all dumb enough to forget possibly one of the greatest speeches ever delivered to the country. I believe Abe Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg Address by himself. I don't think Presidents started recieving hired assistance on their speeches until the era of mass communication when it was essential to have good communicating abilities

In the past presidents really did write their own speech's..Guaranteed Lincoln wrote Gettysburg Address...One of the things wrong in America...See the Movie "Thanks For Not Smoking". The one one who has the best "Spin" on what ever is the truth, will win. Who ever argues best, is never wrong.

Chances Bush wrote his own speech = viability of his new plan to expand the Green Zone.
0 = 0.
You have to give him a few points, though.
He admitted making a mistake. That was 50 years in coming (spoiled rich bastard).
He didn't have that condescending, "I'm really puttin' one over on you" grin on his face while he committed 20,000 more Americans to fight for Haliburton.

Slim to none. No president ever has, to my knowledge. They have professional speech writers to do it for them, but they proof-read and approve the speech before giving it.

I doubt any president has ever wrote any of their own speaches, so i'd say the chance is none, they do decide what goes into them though.

He tells the writers the context of what he needs. They write it, submit it, He edits then memorizes then supplies. similar as all Presidents throughout the time of historic past. which includes Libs like Clinton, Carter, Johnson and bigger.

Presidents don't write speeches. Even Ronald Reagan the Great Communicator, had assistance.
