For the first 20 times he *ya-knows* after the surgery, you can get pregnant. Be sure he goes back for his clean catch...meaning they need to be sure he does not have any more sperm.
After that, it is unlikely you will get pregnant. However, the tubes have been known to "fix" themselves. I have 3 friends who have gotten pregnant a few years after their husband's vasectomies.

Wow is this a customary query right here on Yahoo! Solutions. There have got to be a number of females having intercourse with vasectomized guys without realizing what a vasectomy is or what it does or its failure price. Vasectomy has a few zero.2 percentage failure fee. That means about 1 in 500 men don't grow to be sterile after the process. If the man went and had the recommended three specimens a month apart demonstrated, he would know his vasectomy used to be not a failure. Most effective a third of guys go for required testing as a result of embarrassment over assortment ways (masturbating in a small room and then dropping the specimen off at a desk perpetually run by a woman). Once the vasectomy is said victorious, there may be an ongoing danger of "recanalization" of about 0.2% or a an identical hazard of 1 in 500 guys. So that you see it is rather rare for vasectomy to fail and very infrequent for it to "reconnect". Some reviews record up to 1% for both scenario, but most recommend the 1 in 500 number is proper. Hope that helps. If your BF is a quality man, perhaps he would go give a specimen (he probably more possible when you went with to "aid") and have it rechecked. Then you might now not worry whenever you had been late, etc.

Yes, in some cases the Vas deferens can re-grow. I have heard that sperm can remain in the severed tube and make their way out. Over time they will eventually die but I am not sure how long a safe wait will be. Best to talk to a doctor about it to find out.

No. What did you do to make him not want to have kids with you?
I know, I haven't given my wife kids for 7 years and now she's almost infertile. But enough is enough and men can only be abused for so long..... Most women say at this point, 'but I did nothing wrong', well fine, well it's a good thing they can make themselves pregnant then.
