Do a hard reset by taking out the battery and start over.

hold down the center button and the menu button at the same time until the screen goes black and the apple sign pops up. make sure it's not on hold first!

Hold in the round middle part of the wheel and the up part on the wheel at the same time until something happens. I had it happen to me.

-hold pause
-turn hold off then on then hold the menu button
-plug-in to the computer
if nothing works then just wait till the battery runs out

just hold the center button and play/pause button down until the apple sign comes on the screen...
