why is it a big deal if people know of a guy & a girl older than him having a romantic relationship...

they say age doesn't matter but does it really not matter...
though i don't think it's right if the woman is more than 5 years older...she must be at most 4 years older...what can you say???

is it wrong ???if it is, what the basis.... real and just basis...

If they are legal aged adults, of sane mind, then it's really no one elses business but theirs.

It kinda depends on what stage you are in life. If you are a14 three or four years is a great deal because you are at different stages in life. Once you are in you 20's or older 4 or five years is not much. I am six years older than my husband most people are not aware unless we tell them because we both have been married before and each have children and careers and similar interest. However I don't think if I would have met him when I was 18 or so it would have worked because at that time we were going in different direction's. Good luck to you

It is ok if they decided that way but the only problem is when they are to be life span partners the lady will grow older than the man because she will be producing say 1-3 kids that will worn her out than a man. In actual sense the man should be older than a woman say 3-5 years

I don't see a problem with it as long as everyone is a consenting adult. I do think that relationships may not be as solid as the age gap between people widens - it's more and more difficult for people to connect, they wouldn't have the same shared history or historical foundation for their viewpoints. It's like how kids today have likely never owned a record or used a computer that didn't have internet access.

But relationships can and still do work out even when the age gap is wide.

It's been a long time since my philosophy classes in college but I think it was Aristotle who proposed that a wife should be around 15 years younger than her husband. His basis in reason was a synchronization of peak fertility. A few hundred years later I'm sure Freud would've agreed.

I personally prefer older women. My wife was born in October of 1969 and I was born in January of 1970. I never let her forget about the decade that separates us. :-)

After dating a guy who was like 6 years younger than me, (he was 27, I was 33) I decided that I'd never date anyone a) under 30 and b) anyone younger than my little brother, who wasn't quite 30 at the time, anyway. However, I married the next guy I dated, so I didn't have to worry about dating any more guys younger than my brother, since he turned 30 after I met my husband.

i don't think its a big deal at all. If both ppl are happy, then why should a number make a difference? I have a friend thats 10 yrs.older than her husband and they are very happy together.
Older men always want younger women,so why can't us older women have young men?

Most younger guys are very immature. I don't want to take care of them like an older sister.

No, 4 - 5 yrs is OK...
When I was 14, between 9th & 10th grades...
I lost my virginity to a 34 yr old woman..
We had a 3 month long affair..
When school started in Sept., she left town and I never saw
her again..
I still have fond memories of this wonderful, tender beautiful woman
many years ago....I was the happiest boy in town...
No, this was not abuse...
