If clean potassium metal is exposed to dry air, a compound forms which has two parts of potassium for one part of oxygen, or K2O We would predict this because K would form a singly positive cation while O forms a doubly negative anion which would get together in this ratio. The compound is called simply potassium oxide since the greek prefixes are reserved for covalent (non-ionic) compounds like CO2 - carbon dioxide. I don't know of many uses for potassium oxide.

Your question needs editing, 1 part K with 2 parts O gives you KO2
which is impossible. B) yes it would be called along the lines of potassium dioxide. C) what would it make no idea?

A) yes, B) yes, and C) I'm not sure what you want here that's different from (B).

Note that it would tend to absorb water from the atmosphere and convert itself into potassium hydroxide (K2O + H2O -> 2 KOH).
