Why is it that women SEEM to be more conniving and manipulative than men?

is it hat they are less rational and may actually sincerely believe something that is false, or is it because of their generally lower physical strength forces them to use more "passive aggressive" methods. Once again I said SEEM. please do show me where I'm wrong.

Funnily enough most women will agree with the general premise that women are more conniving and manipulative (do You trust a Woman who is wearing make-up to tell the truth?) Remember, for the most part, it is only when a male puts forward the proposition that females have in some way been able to manipulate an outcome that other women rally to the cause. I will even go so far as to suggest that if You check the answers to your question You will find a significant proportion of the respondents will basically agree with Your supposition.
Women are far more inclined to use others more when it comes to getting Their own way than Men who have a tendency to do it for themselves. whether this is 'utilization' or 'manipulation' is a matter for conjecture, or profound discussion between You and the target of Your 'interest' with regards this topic.
Like any interpersonal interaction if You allow Yourself to be used for the purposes of others then You only have Yourself to blame. That goes for Everyone! Think about it for one minute.

I believe it's because women are more social than men. When it comes to relationships, they are much deeper. You have to agree with that, right? I once saw this study where they put 6 men who did not know each other in a room together for an hour. Then they asked them questions about the other men in the room. They did the same thing with 6 women. They found out that the women knew so many personal things about each other, and the men didn't even know each other's last names.

Honestly, I don't think that women intend to be conniving and manipulative. I think it's just a side-effect of the way they deal with people. They're smart about people. When they want something, or want to send a certain message to someone they really think about what they should say or how they should act to get the result they want.

As my husband puts it, men are simple. They think what they say and say what they think. So I don't think that you are wrong. You just have to understand why women are like this and maybe that will help you.

Generally when a guy comes out from left field with some comment that is WAY off base compared to all but one of the women I know and befriended(a hundred plus) I can almost always say-"dude you are so dating a "type"" Luckily you have to turn over lots of rocks to find this type-they are not abundant! Examine what attracts you to these women in the first place-conniving and manipulative are generally the provinces of "powerless" people. Are you hot for the damsel in distress model or something? Cute but dumb? Hot but broke? Whatever it is date the EXACT opposite next time and you may be pleasantly surprised!

1) The concept of women being "less rational" is a false concept introduced in early patriarchal government propaganda which justified not giving women the vote.

You should really watch your use of epithets regarding women, especially on a *women's studies* topic board.

2) The concept of women using "passive-aggressive" techniques to compensate for their suggested inherent genetic weakness is incredibly false too. Many women are physically stronger than men. And since when did physical strength ever factor into winning an argument in typical healthy relationships??

It's because they are. It stems back in time when men were hunters and women took care of home (the cave, the camp, whatever you want to call it). If a woman wanted something she had to be able to convince her man it was needed. Women learned that certain approaches to an issue were more likely to get a positive response, based on the priorities of her man. Some women began to see manipulation as a source of power, though, and the whole thing can get carried away if her man isn't strong enough or wise enough to see what's going on. Women don't actually believe half the things they say...they're just looking for an angle that will get them what they want. Easy if her man is not that bright...and extremely annoying to a more intelligent man. Hence, very manipulative women seldom end up with a very smart man. Not just because a smart man can see right through her, but also because it's likely she's used to getting her way in everything. Men find such women to be a pain in the ***. Another term for it is "high maintainence".

Women are very good at getting what they want because they are better communicators and multi-taskers than men. Yes, it's possible that lack of physical strength helped us evolve into a sex that uses our brains to solve problems. I don't see anything wrong with that.

By the way, "believing something that is false" has nothing to do with being conniving and manipulative. So I don't know what you're talking about there.

Men are just as manipulative. The only problem is there are much less men who have their charisma and strong feminine attraction skills to actually pull it off.

It is the same as when you put 20 people in the room. 10 Guys and 10 Women. Within a few hours the 10 women will find the 1 guy attractive. For the men there will be a few who like one girl and a few who like the other. It is just that men are able to be satisfied and like simple things. Women need sophistication and perfection.

So it boils down to men being more accommodating and are thus easier to manipulate. Women are less accommodating and thus less men are worthy of affecting their feelings.

Its still stucked from waaay back when most things a woman could want had to be stripped from the hard unforgiving world with muscle power. If she wanted new clothes or such, there was no mall to hit, they had to do some convincing in order to get deary to go hunting for fur (and meat). An art which women are loosing since once married, all they need to do now is to threaten with divorce.
Also not only women were manipulative. Did you ever see black adder, the middle age episode ?

After reading many answers I see that every one is concentrating on the idea that Women are conniving and manipulative.....
I have found that those that accuse women of these things are in fact the manipulators and connivers and have been caught in the game and taught a lesson. Real women and men don't tolerate these games. Something to think about.

Because women are more right brain which is the more artsy, some would say feminine, side of your brain, which uses indirect methods rather than straight forward methods, like the left side of the brain, which men are more dominant in.
