Okay, player has the ball, time winding down for the quarter, or the game.
Player takes a jump shot... while in the air, but not having let go of the ball yet, the buzzer sounds.
Is the game over, or does the shot count if it goes?
Similarly, if the player is going for a dunk, and is sailing through the air with ball in hand, and then the buzzer sounds...
will the dunk count if he makes it?
thanks

The basket does not count. The ball has to be in the air for the shot to count.

The rule is, if the player is touching the ball when the buzzer goes off, it is dead and the shot will not count.
This is true whether the player is soaring through the air for a dunk/layup, or if he is making a jump shot and the ball is touching his fingertips.

the ball has to be out of the players hand.
The only circumstance where it would work is if there is 00:01 (1 second) left in the game and ball is out of bounds. Since it's so hard to gauge when to start the clock...since the clock starts once the ball touches somebody, you're allowed to tip the ball in if someone can alley-oop it in a place where you can just redirect the ball into the basket without grabbing onto the ball...

Ball must leave hand before buzzer sounds (clock goes to zero) in both cases.

Game over, shot doesn't count unless it leaves his hand before time runs out.

Airborne practise is bodily hard, yet no longer so hard that almost anybody who's in good shape can get by it. in case you exceeded situation-loose practise, you are able to desire to be sturdy to flow in that branch. the practise itself is taxing, yet a number of it is enjoyable in case you have the spectacular approach. I went by interior the early '70's and not lots has replaced as a results of fact then. extra advantageous than actual, it relatively is all approximately regardless of in case you have the middle to do it. I made it by mutually as nonetheless smoking 2 packs of cigs an afternoon. rattling close to killed me, yet I did it. I observed adult men climb the 34 foot towers and are available backtrack. they're designed to bring about optimum worry of heights. sorting out the open door of a plane is freaky, yet you do no longer likely have the perspective of altitude. For me and maximum different adult men, the toughest bounce replaced into the 2nd, no longer the 1st. there have been adult men in my type who made the 1st go out of an plane in flight and then dropped out as a results of fact they could no longer do it lower back. in case you relatively need it, you're able to do it. as a results of fact the Airborne is all volunteer, it is ordinary adequate to end, they are going to be chuffed to eliminate you from the class and deliver you out in case you won't be in a position to decrease it. sturdy success.
