I am goth and I was just wondering what other people thought about the goths in their schools whether it be college or highschool.

they seemed normal enough to me! usually goth people are among the most friendly, open people AT a high school. it can be intimidating when all the goths are together because you feel like an outsider, and maybe would make you less likely to approach a group, but that's the case with any group.

Most so-called "Goths" don't even know what being Gothic is about. It comes as a surprise to a lot that it's a mindset, not the music or clothes. You can wear every colour of the rainbow and listen to pop music, and still be a real Goth. Just looking like you robbed a Hot Topic warehouse doesn't qualify.

Which one?

Emo- they suck! They're a wuss wannabe.

"commerical goth"- they shop at hot topic, try to act depress, never wear anything beside black. They suck! They're a poser who try too hard.

Punkish goth and real goth- they're very easy to get along with. Probably the nicest and most understanding people around. I also notice they tend to be really intelligent. I'm deaf and in high school and college, most of my friends were goth or punks because they accept me for who I am and don't treat me like trash.

I date a punk girl once and oh man I still think about her everyday. She make me feel like a real human with feeling, ability to think, and emotional. It suck that we went on our own path since I think I've turn into a really prick after that due to being so bitter with how many people treat me because of my deafness and no one to turn to for any support.

btw I'm not a goth, I'm a metrosexual Muay Thai fighter.

I am so old that we didn't have goths when I was in high school!

But we did have Bauhaus, Siouxsie & the Banshees, and The Cure... so we got the good music without all the Hot Topic nonsense.

Its just a faze kids go through. My daughters friends went through it and I know that other kids judged them pretty harshly, but you know what? Be who you are. If thats where you are in life now, then don't worry about what other people think. They need to quit judging others and look in the mirror for a change. Some of the most popular girls are royal bitches and not worth being friends with anyway. So be proud of who you are!

I usually stay away from them, it feels like they project a sort of "stay-away-from-me" mood.
...But, then again, pretty much everyone projects that mood at my school, so it's not them.
Not saying I hate them or don't get along with them, it just feels like they're hard to approach. I do know a couple, and they're pretty nice.

goths are cool, they don't bother other ppl. what really pisses me off are EMOs, and real emos are cool cause they end up cutting themseleves sooner or later, but emo posers are far worse.
