The first objects that are considered to be glass were formed as the result of electrical discharges (lightening) on beaches. The earliest that are incorporated into jewelry or other goods date to ancient Phoenician times. I do not believe that anyone specific can be associated with the first discovery of glass. If you are asking about specific types of glass (Pyrex (tm), for instance, which is borosilicate glass), then some have specific inventors.

I suspect it was DISCOVERED by our ancestors long ago after lightning struck sand and created glass from the high heat in the silica. Wish I could help you as to who MADE glass for the first time, but that's probably shrouded in history.
