Dining establishment sounds pretty sterile, but the most I ever left for a tip was $100. It was a really great meal, four or five courses where speed was not an element. Small sorbet to cleanse the palate between courses and loads of good wine. Spent nearly two and a half hours enjoying each others company and the meal as well.

Best tip gave. $29 meal.....$79 tip...it was Valentines day he was so nice! Hubby gave him a great tip we had a great time.

The meal was so cheap...b/c they took my dinner off since they got the order wrong twice.

And

We ordered drinks and someone else brought out are drinks and spilled it all over the table and my hubby. She was rude and we don't get along. But I for got to tell our Waiter not to let this girl near our table so we wasn't upset that he didn't bring it out.

So b/c of that we got our appetizer free also. Had to leave a good tip

I leave 25 % for great service and 15 - 20% for good service... I almost never ever leave below 15% unless something was horrible and it was the servers fault.. like If something went wrong with the food I know that is not the servers fault that is the kitchens fault unless they rang in the wrong thing... as long as the server fixes the problem I have no problem still leaving them 15%

P.S. to the guy who said he left 10% on a $300.00 bill that is not good tipping at all just in case you thought it was since you said that is the most you ever left... 10% should only be used on the rare occasion when you have a horrible server

the most excellent service i got was from a teenage kid.. she was sweet and kind.. and genuine.. all the orders were right.. everything was great.. our total came to like 80.00 at end of meal.. was a large crowd.. at a cheap place.. i heard her asking her trainer lady how to claim her tips and heard her telling her she only got paid 2.25 an hour and how the irs.. blah blah.. needed their cut.. so as we were leaving.. she was getting off.. i waited til she walked out.. and handed her a 20.00 aside from what was left by the people at the table and told her listen this is off the record.. you dont claim this.. now go have a good nite.. and spend it all in one place.. we both laughed and smiled.. and it felt better than any other dining experience.. its not right they make so little money.. then claim it all.. p.u. that stunk

Usually we leave 15-20% but if service is really good, then we leave 25%.
