Well first of all welfare does not give much money, and there is the work first I believe it is called program the government has put into place. He will have to look for work and eventually have to get a job anyway.
I am sure your dad would love to home with you, but he is probably doing his very best to support you right now. Have you ask him to stop doing over the road trucking and just do local work. Fed EX pays good for local runs.
Let your dad know how much you miss him and want to be with him. Until he can find a way to spend more time with you, make sure you speak to each other daily, even if it is only to say I love you and good night.
I hope your dad comes home for good soon. I'll say a prayer for you two, say yours too.

Welfare is slow starvation, and won't even pay the bills, usually.
Suggest to your Dad that he look for a truck driver's job that is local, and he can be home with you every night!
Cement companies, and most companies need local pick-ups and deliveries. Auto parts stores need drivers for local deliveries. UPS might be hiring in your area, and that pays pretty well.
It's great to see someone your age showing some initiative. Keep up the good work!

Well, the goal of welfare is to help people get back up. Your father will have to take classes, etc. to get a better job (assuming that he is still at a working age and is capable) etc. Welfare doesn't give much, but it's something for people who hve no other choice.

Welfare is a drain on the government. People should have to work and get assistance, and then get on their feet and make their own living once they are able. Living on welfare forever and not working is not proving much...what do you think

Welfare is out of the question if he is able to hold down a job without any problems. heh even with problems its extremely hard. Really the only thing he'll get if he quits is medicade.

Welfare is very little, honey, and it's bad for the people who are on it. It takes away thier dignity. Your dad has dignity, at least. And that makes us kind of feel good.

Have you told your papa how you feel? I bet he could get a local route unless he has to pay for his cdl, or has a binding contract with his company.
