There are different kinds of sore throat. Common Cause of sore throat are:

Breathing through the mouth
Common cold
Viral pharyngitis
Influenza
Strep throat (caused by streptococcal bacteria)
Infectious mononucleosis
Fish, chicken bone, or other foreign substance stuck in the throat.
Endotracheal intubation
Surgery such as tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy

In the many cases, sore throat cased by a virus infection need only be treated with paracetamol (eg Calpol, Panadol) to bring the temperature down.

In a small minority of patients, a sore throat caused by bacteria is treated with penicillin, or erythromycin (eg Erythroped) in cases of penicillin allergy.

And my friend is doing on a lollipop for sore throat project. She is using an active ingredient called Alkaloid which is found in some herbs.

And it depends on which type of sore throat and the seriousness of it. I cannot determine whether tomorrow you will be sick or not.

My 89 year old mother told me about 45 years ago what would help my sore throat and I have used it every since and recommended it .

Gargle with peroxide and water. Fill the glass 1/2 full with equal parts of water and peroxide gargle about every 2 hours. It will foam the infection from your throat and in 1-2 days the soreness will be gone. If you gargle for about 6 hours (every 2 hours) it should be gone in 1 day.

TRY IT, I GUARANTEE IT OR YOUR MONEY BACK!!!!!

Try some Gypsy Cold Care Tea (this is in almost any grocery store). It really does the trick.

If you can follow it up with some Fisherman's Friend lozenges, then you will be smiling and happy tomorrow.

Also a cup of JustCranberry every two hours and plenty of hot water.

Gargling with warm salt water helps, so does a teaspoon of honey. Are there any blisters visible in your mouth or throat? If so you could have strep throat and will need to see a doctor for a prescription.
I hope you feel better soon.

Gargling with salt water may soothe it. Lots of fluids are good - especially tea. Lozenges may help.

Most importantly - just treat it - know you are doing good things for your body - and move on. If you keep dwelling on it - you will let it get the best of you for sure. Your mind is very powerful. You can use it to help yourself get better!!

Gargle with salt water, then drink hot tea with honey. You may be sick tomorrow, or not--depending on how severe the infection is.

Take a teaspoon of butter that is hard from the fridge, mash a little sugar in it, roll in in a ball, and gently let it dissolve in your mouth. This is a 70 year old recipe from my grandmother, Its called a 'butterball' - - - delicious, and effective. ! Drink lots of water, you will probably be o.k. tomorrow. Good luck.
