i am mixed with black, therefore some people call me black. but i am not attracted to black guys at all. i choose to mainly date interracially and thank God i have a friend who feels the exact same way as i do. but i dont know, but for me i feel like most black people are the same and feel they have to thuggish/ghetto and i think that's so fake. and i dont think i'm better than them or anything but i also hate how everytime something goes wrong they have to pull out the race card. and at my school the black people call me "white" because i listen to country, pop, and dont dress like they do. i'm not trying to be vain but i even get evil looks from the girls when i do my hair because it is long. all these things bother me. but does this make me racist? and any suggestions on how i can improve my outlook? please dont be honest but not too harsh.

You said "please dont be honest" thats a typo right?
Anyhow, I feel your pain 100%. Its an every day struggle to love that other part of me and somehow be proud. Not many people understand because they are not in our shoes. Constantly being judged based on what you look like by whites. And how you act and look by black folks.

I can understand how you feel, because sadly I feel the same way. But not to the point where I feel like anytime they look at my hair its because Im not all the way black or whatever, it takes a while and a lot of praying to stop judging people by their colour, and also I hate to break it to you, but you are half black, and not to mention not all white people are sugar and spice, there is jerks in every race, and there are rasict black people and rasict white, hispanic, asian, you name it. You have a whole family that is black and Im sure you don't feel negatively towards them. Over time you'll grow into someone more open I hope. Good luck!

I think its easy to be lulled into the media hype and this is the main reason people fall into their stereotypes. It seems that anything besides fitting a stereotype is somehow not being true to one's culture ,but the one thing people tend to miss is the fact that these stereotypes were brought about by ignorance and social pigeon-holing. The idea that to be black or any other specific race for that matter is to act a certain way and dress a certain way is an absurd thought in itself. This would be comparable to saying that the whole of what is a person is the environment induced tendencies. If you'd like to believe that nature picks outs the actions of everyone according to race this might be a good view point ,but it falls short of what the actual story is. You see what you call "ghetto" is actually not an action but a learned behavior brought about by poor roots and rich oppressive history. This mixture of culture and historical fact come together and interweave to form the society we see today. I'm not saying that if one decided to all of a sudden not let history affect them to such a degree that it wouldn't work ,but I'm simply shedding some light on the subject. Basically if someone eats dog food from infancy until adulthood we shouldn't expect them to be eager to have a salad with ranch dressing right off the bat. However, I can see the correlation concerning a youth that decides to follow a white bread image of they should be according to who they are. I guess the moral is to not let the color of our skin define us ,but to define the color of our skin or better yet to let ourselves define ourselves and ourselves only.

Don't worry about anyone who doesn't think you're "black enough". Just be yourself and ignore everyone else! I'm not attracted to thuggish/ghetto people either and I'm fully black. I too get all the crap you listed.
What you should dislike are people with a certain personality, not people of a certain color.

It's not wrong, it's a culture thing, not a race thing, it isn't hard to not appreciate certain aspects of that particular culture, because, frankly, a lot of it is stupid. That said, a lot of just about any other culture is stupid to, but that's hardly the point. Though personally I'm attracted to people of all races, the ghetto thing does tend to detract from attraction.

But no, it doesn't make you racist.

Not all blacks are coming from ghetto and all that.
And yes, you are being vain. Are you going to hate one of your parents too cos he/she is black?
You are only 50% white, so get over it, be proud of yourself and get a life.

I think this makes you BORDERLINE racist because you are discriminating the blacks. I don't know what you are mixed with, but YOU SEEM TO ONLY ATTACK THE BLACKS. What is a real black woman? dark skin? big lips and bid nose? NO, BLACK WOMEN COME IN ALL SHADES, SHAPES AND COLORS! Somalians have straight hair, small lips, thing noses and are black! Why can't you just see ignorant people without colors? and please, stop generalizing the blacks. I am sure they are not all LIKE that!

plz dont be honest? i think yr stuck in the middle. you obviously dont want to be associated with the black people coz you think yr better then them coz you are mixed white. but white people dont find you white coz u are not up to the standard of being white . other then that its either u have to accept the idea of being both not one is better den the other.
thats why people think yr arrogant. anyhow just do yr own stuff dont try to get involve whatsoever . and also u do have to change yr mindset on things. go figure.. gd luck
