My last period was heavier and longer than normal. It lasted about 6 days instead of 4. Now 2 1/2 weeks later, I start bleeding again but it is very light. It's been going on for about 6 days now. Is this ok or should I be worried? I'm usually semi-regular, anywhere from 3.5 to 4.5 weeks apart but never 2.5.

there could be a lot of things going on..are you stressed for any reason? that is one major contributor to abnormal periods..if it has been going on for 6 days now, i would make an appointment to see my doctor..it could be nothing, but you never know..

Actually it is not uncommon for young girls to have irregular periods. However, it is important to go to your doctor and get on a birth control to regulate the period. If it goes for a long time without being fixed, you could hurt your chances of getting pregnant later on when you are ready to have children. Talk to your parents or set up an appointment as soon as you can, and your doctor should be able to help you get back into a normal cycle.
Possible thing that could be effecting the cycle:
Too much exercise and/or not eating enough-gymnasts, for example, often stop getting their period or have irregular periods because of the stressful amounts of exercise put on their bodies
