I am in the sixth grade, and we have to do a group project thingy called "The Art of Memory" for my honors English class. For my part of the project, I have to take an excerpt from a story or novel that "exemplifies the power of the memory to produce an imaginative vision or recalled experience" and then write a commentary to go with it. Does anyone know of a book? The thing is due Tuesday.

Harry Potter is always good for that. There are thousands of examples throughout all of the books. But that seems slightly too common so if you want something else, A Wrinkle in Time is a really good book for this. So is Holes at the end when the find the suitcase.

How about the original version of Cinderella by the Brothers Grimm. It's a little creepy. The Prince and Cinderella both recall their time at the ball, and he uses it to pursue her. However, in the Grimm story, he confuses her wicked stepsisters and takes each of them away first before he figures out which one he wants.
