The future is digital, digitalized.
Computers and communications technologies will be essentially transparent to the users of such systems. The word user will be archaic because systems won't be tools anymore; they will simply be the environment.
One doesn't use an environment one lives in an environment. The question will be, "How, Will and Should we live when that time comes?"
The point is to allow the future to inform the present and shape today's decisions...to prompt us to ask, "well if that's where we are going to be in 20 years or less, what should we be doing now?"

I think in the future we would be able to do everything using a mobile device that would be inserted into our bodies The objective would be so that we would always be online. This device would have the ability to automatically connect a call directly to your brain, provide directions to you (and download the information to your memory), make payments and even assist you conduct web activities. We would use our minds to control it. Chemicals would be applied to our bodies that would enable our cells easily disintergrate and become electric pulses (so that we can be teleported easily).
In the future, oil companies and banks would be broke as everyone would bank with the mobile telecommunication company as there would be no need for money. These companies would be powered by sunlight thus allowing them keep all the money for themselves.

iLife.
An iPod, cell phone, HDTV (it unfolds into a 19" wide television), high-res 7 megapixel camera (with video), speed-of-light internet browser, printer (the size of a fingernail), 24/7 Google Earth (with 100x zoom on anyone, anywhere, under a roof or not), and refrigerator - all in one. Oh yeah, and it can be invisible too.
