People who don't know you can be totally objective. Some will be 'jaded' of course, but by and large, it is good to get input from a variety of people with a variety of life's experiences under their belts. By reading what others say (their perspectives) sometimes things become clearer--and sometimes that's just what we need to help us over the bumps in this life. Like it or not--and sometimes the majority says things that we don't want to see or admit to ourselves. I think it depends on WHY you are asking the question. Do you Really want to know? Are you sincere? If you are, and the people responding are, this can be most helpful.

any advice even from a homeless person on the street can be a real gem if the person asking will really listen to the responses yeah there are a bunch of immature *** holes on here but some of the rest of us really try to convey experience in certain areas that might actually help someone that is the entire purpose of this site....to exchange information and suggestions and like I said anyone of them can be a winner for someone if the answer is based on personal experience

sometimes people like to hear others to give them support, and I would hope people do not actually do what people tell them on here without thinking first, I believe most look at the whole situation, consider the answers they've been given (sometimes another's point of view is helpful) then take care of the problem. i've benefited from this site, many times in many, different ways

I don't look for advice from others as much as I look for others perspectives. If I am upset I may not need to hear "call them back and demand an apology" as much as I may need to hear "oh my God you are being the hugest baby of all time!!" Sometimes you may get the same answer from 10 people, other times you may get 15 different ones and from that you do benefit.

Sympathy and blowing off are good excuses. Most persons on this topic 'Marriage & Divorce' are just plain 'ol exhibitionists.
This is not the place for relationship advice. Too many members are here to troll and to validate their own mis-conceptions/mis-perceptions in regards to relationships.

Sometimes just asking the question anomalously helps and the range of answers can give you a perspective on the way to go. It's helpful just to get input from different cultures as well.

I have gotten some decent advice on here. I really don't have anyone I can talk to about some personal issues. On here,no one knows me,and I don't have to worry about feeling stupid about a question I ask.

I think when people ask these questions, they are really looking for someone who will back them up on what they already know in their own minds.
