Didn't I hear him say no longer will only the folks in military and their families be the only ones sacrificing. I think that shows just how serious it is that if we lose in Iraq that whole nation will become a training ground for terrorists.

My bad apperantly, I was trying to be sarcastic as Bush clearly did not call for all to sacrifice, still just the folks in the military.Neverless I do not see that anyone addressed my question, sarcastic or not.

Doc he did say exactly what the new troops are going to be for. Listen to it again. And to the one who said Saddam didn't like terrorists? Then why did he pay suicide bomber familys 25000 each when they offed themselves and others. There was eveidence of that when they went through Saddam's stuff 3 years ago. I hate war as much as all of you do. But I use the same old argument isn't it better to fight them over there then here? We didn't start this and they won't quit until they get strong enough to come over here and kill all of us. And if we cut and run from Iraq as the Democrats like Durbin just said after Bush's speach it will sure help their cause. They will have another place to multiply and train when they kill off the Iraqi population. Some say we should have never gone in after they voted to do just that. That Saddam had things under control well if Bush was to get things under control here by using Saddams methods he would have to kill off most of the democrats and gas New York and CA.lol somehow I don't think that would work here. All through the middle 90's the dems like Durbin John Kerry Nancy Paloci were sending notes to Clinton urging him to deal with Saddam. It was only because Bush won that they changed their minds pure political bs and it's a shame they think like that. They obviously don't see the seriousness of the threat. Cut and run would be a disaster very short sighted of them and I hope they don't win the white house!!

Bush won't be sacrificing and neither will body bag mfg.'s, that's for sure. What else could we possibly give up? More of our rights as American's, I'll bet. On the other hand, no one will cry over taxes that are being spent on things like education, health care, domestic infrastructure......... 2 more years of pain and agony for our country and Iraq and probably more even after '08, I'm sure.

I don't agree with the phrase "if we loose" in your question - there is no if, we are loosing, and badly. I think that W's new rhetoric is much closer to reality than previous, but whether this represents some sort of epiphany for him as to the realities on the groud or whether it's just another political ploy since his last line of rhetoric is no longer working.
I am concerned by his proposal to add more troops to Iraq without any plan that he's articulated to us about what to do with them, it should be clear to everyone now that our current strategy there is not working, and without changing that, adding more troops is just throwing them into a meat grinder. Our country, our soldiers, and the Iraqi people deserve better.

You didn't listen right...like many in here. He said to REBUILD Iraq they will need civilians to assist. FEMA is looking for people with skills, just like the State Department. Hey, don't knock it. Do you have any idea what the salaries are when you go there in construction??? 6 figures, my man...6 figures per year.

Yes, you heard right. It was not a training ground for terrorist before we went to war. Saddam hated terrorist and looked on them as competition and dangerious to his dictatorship.
Wow, maybe maybe we should stay till the two religions there embrace and love each other. YEH!!!!!
