In this democratic society we give the people the right to vote. Do many people feel the current President or Prime Minister are the right people for the job? Probably not but they were elected. If Rory was voted 3rd I think he should play. Even if only for 1 shift. Obviously the NHL will limit the amount of votes for future All-Star games. Maybe it should be the scoring leaders and the goalies with the best averages and percentages so that the best of the best are there and not just the most popular.

No and thankfully that little joke didn't get him in. I think the NHL when they pick the reserves will see this for what it is and not put him in. I think MOST reserves will be let in based on the votes as well. That is truly the most fair way to do it. See if they really have the ability to be called an all-star and if they do then put them in. Personally I'm hoping that Fluery still makes it in even though he finished 3rd in Goalies in the East. Yeah he had almost twice the votes of the 4th and really he is good enough to be considered an all-star. Now someone like Rory where it was let's see if we can put someone in through write-ins even if they don't belong in shouldn't be put in by the NHL. Why couldn't you people do a write in campaign for someone who would have really deserved it if they made it, like Gonchar?

instead of making internet videos and ads or whatever saying vote for rory, try using your time to practice and become a better player. no, he should not be in the all star game. this is an all star game, where the nhl showcases its talent, not shows its pity stories

Hell No. this is a joke gone waaaaaay too far, its a discrace to the game of hockey, here is a defenceman hardly good enough to play in the nhl, starting in an all atar game ahead of perennial all stars like lidstrom and pronger, I hate the stupid campaign and anyone who votes for him, go take your "Joke' somewhere else, dammit this is what happens when you let the fans vote.

NO!!!
Also I don't think he is even an NHL quality player and should be sent down to the AHL.
Look at his stats.
I think they should play Alexander Edler more and get rid of Rory.

A meaningless non-contact goalfest that only fools watch--sure he should play to reinforce what a farce the whole event is. If there's no hitting or intensity, that's not hockey...they should call it the NSL (National Shinny League) All-Star Game.
As an "honor," no. Then again it would have been a laugh had he been voted in.

No.
#1 reason-he's not an all star. #2 reason-he hasn't even played half the season this year.

No because he wasn't voted in (came in third place). He could still be selected, but I can't see that happening.
