WHAT!? That's the weirdest thing I have ever heard. I bathe my 3 month old every single night. It helps with his routine on what is bedtime and what isn't.

The best time to bathe a 3 month old baby is during the day when the most heat is on.

Hospitals have scores of babies at a time. Do you honestly think they bathe them all during a certian time frame? No they do not. My baby was in the NICU for over a month and I found that night time was slower so most babies got a bath during that time. I feel this may have been first told generations ago when we had to deal more with the elements in daily life. So if you are amish with no hot water or heaters I would not bathe your baby at night buuut if you are in a home with central heating like most are then well bathe away!

You can bathe that baby when ever you think he needs a bath. Most moms do bathe the baby during the day on the theory that it wakes them up to have a bath but at 3 months he is sleeping when he wants to anyway.

That's a strange thing to tell you... like most of the other answers, I agree, in the evening before bed is a great time to bathe your baby, it settles them and they love it. My four children (my youngest is 6 months) all have evening baths with no ill side effects. Maybe this person meant in the middle of the night - still - if my child was sick in bed, or if they've had a wet bed I've bathed them during the night - and they were fine. Enjoy your baby and bathe them when you are relaxed and can enjoy their cuteness.

We bath our 4 month old son right before we put him down for the night, maybe 30 minutes to an hour before. A bath before bedtime helps him sleep through the night. He sleeps for up to 9 hours.....

This is holdover advice from several generations ago, when homes were not well heated. Bathing a baby (or anyone) at night, when it is always colder than during the day, left baby susceptible to getting a chill, which is more difficult for a baby to recover from, as it takes several months for a child to have a strong ability to regulate their body temperature.
In this era, it doesn't matter if it's morning, noon or night when baby has his bath, so long as you keep him appropriately warm and comfortable.

I always bathed my girls right before bed time. Put a little bit of the lavender bath time soap in the water, and they slept great. You can give a bath anytime. It makes no sense why you shouldn't do it at night, especially if you are working all day.

Don't listen to that; it doesn't even make sense! I've heard not to bathe them in the morning b/c you don't want to have to go out with wet hair or open pores, but I've never heard anything about not bathing at night. My 21 month old has always slept better at night after his bath. At this point, he expects it. After his evening snack, he'll just run into the bathroom and start peeling off his clothes. If you let him, he'll even try to run his own bathwater. At any rate, just do what's convenient for you and your baby and try not to listen to incorrect old wives tales. Best of luck!

Don't listen to other people. You are this baby's mama, and you should do what feels natural to you.
Bathing in the evening can be good, especially if it is used as part of a bedtime routine. Then, he can expect the bath and become used to it.
I personally bathe my baby in the morning, because it is when I also shower.
There is no "right" time, making sure your baby is clean is what's most important!
