I don't think we are all close minded and pessimistic. Those who are close minded however are just stubborn. I feel that everyone whether it be democratic, republican, or independent believe what we want to believe and it is hard to sway someone to the other side (just stubborn) As for pessimistic. Well those who are probably just don't see the world being in very good shape right now. They feel Bush is the cause and will be pessimistic until he leaves. just my opinion.

uh... because you're delusional and live in a world where you think that's the truth?
why can't Republicans ask a question that's not leading, bias, naive and childish?
name calling will get you real far buddy...
and on a side note/joke... do you think that Republicans are open minded, optimistic and answer questions directly?
EDIT: so you're one of those "everyone in politics is bad" people?
look... there are clearly factions in each party that are bull-headed, stubborn, closed minded and pessimistic... especially on devisive and heated issues
personally I don't think that it is the majority of either party though... and people sometimes paint both with a large brush...

Why are Republicans so optimistic when the sky is falling down around them?
You see, Yahoo Answers is the worst place to say something like this. Let's go through why:
1) Any non-American hates Bush and would like to shove grenades up his ***
2) People like me want very much to impeach his ***
3) Plenty of people, myself included, think it would be quite ironic if Bush was somehow sentenced to death by hanging for war crimes.
4) All the "good Republicans" fall under the following categories:
---Too rich to waste their time on here
---Too poor to have a computer/internet
---Believe that the computer and the Internet are incarnations of Satan, and all users are damned to hell
---Too busy in jail for scandals

No, no. It's the other way around if you want to talk stereotypes... Is that it? Are we either one or the other, and then all that each entails? I'm an American! How about you?

They might actually have to take a stand on something instead of bashing someone else.
