I am 26wks pregnant. I had a check-up at around week 20 and i had gained somewhere between 11-15pounds (can't remember the exact amount). At my 26wk checkup on Monday i hadn't gained any weight at all although my fundal measurement was 26cm exactly! So obviously this means there isn't a connection between weight gain and fundal measurement growth... right?! Sorry if it seems like a stupid question, am just curious!

You are right. the doc measures your uterus, not your belly, although it looks like that is what he is measuring. You are fine! Good Luck!

The fundal measurments do not correlate with weight gain. They are used primarily for diagnosing the baby's growth. They are also sometimes looked at in terms of amniotic fluid. If the fundal measurements are far below where they should be or far excessive, it could be an indicator of too little or too much amniotic fluid.
Take Care and be healthy!

There is no correlation between fundal growth and weight gain. But the fundal height ( from the top of your pubic line to the top of your uterus) is closely related to how many weeks pregnant you are. So at 26 weeks it should be around 26 centimetres.

It only works in cm though.

Your baby eats first -- that means that you might even lose weight (which *you* did, if you gained no weight but your baby grew, which s/he did, then you've actually lost weight) but your baby will continue to grow. Obviously, you must eat a well-balanced diet of healthy foods during your pregnancy, and should never restrict your caloric intake or ignore your hunger. But there is no direct correlation between weight gain and fetal growth.

You are right. The uterus doesn't weight that much right now, and your body may be balancing out the weight you are gaining in other areas by using up fat reserves you already had.
