beat poetry comes from the beat poets...written 1940s-1960s

The best way to make one up is to read what came before you.
Personally, I prefer a kind of tributary, a run-off, of beat called confessional poetry... So if you don't need this for a grade, check out Sexton and Plath and Robert Lowell too.
