There exists absolute truth. However, the reason for the many deviations is because of the fact that people have their own conscience and standards, they would like to take a part of it or none at all. So although it appears that truth is strictly relative to the seeker, as subjective, it however is absolute for many people and is furthermore objective since the values in absolute truth are universal. This is one of the reasons why many people believe and know the same things. Furthermore, if one knows absolute truth, many people would disagree for they themselves follow their incomplete schematic. However, the truth would eventually spread and thus enlighten the ignorant.

No, there are differing interpretations on the truth. The truth therefore is relative to the perspective you are in.

What is true though, is that a lie is absolute when admitted. A lie which is not admitted, is not absolute.

This is presumably why confessions are such damning evidence against an accused. However, even confessions are suspect when extreme pressure is applied to an individual in order to extract whatever information can be forced out.

All that is true is certainly relative. We (humans) are living in a world directed by millions of years of statistics and beliefs. These beliefs are so deeply embedded into our minds and hearts that we just cannot think beyond it. I will take a simple example, of say, what is defined as rape today. Rape is having sex without willingness of the other partner involved. Is that true. Everyone would say YES. So it is TRUE. But wait....just imagine a million years ago when mankind was not sophisticated enough to be binded by law, religion etc can anyone say if there used to be a consent by both partners before having sex, or was it driven by urge of only one person, or was rape the only way to have sex? So when there was no definition of rape, it was not true. And today the same thing is so true that we will go as far as killing the person commiting that crime.
On the same lines....everything has been evolved over beliefs, perceptions and assumptions and in general, what is good for social animals (humans) to live together in a society....everything can be true or nothing at all that we know may be true.
Regarding absolute truth...my understanding...YES...there is an absolute truth...but we may never even come close to knowing it.

In my own opinion and in human terms, truth is RELATIVE!

What is true to yours may be wrong to me.
And if your truth is the truth but contradicts to my truth which i can prove it is really the truth. Then we have two truths, therefore, truth is relative.

But there is an absolute truth which the human intellect cannot grasp at the moment, it is the Divine truth that comes from the Absolute Being, the Divine God of Truth.

There is very little "absolute" truth. It's generally relative to something else.

For instance: when I was 12, my favorite food was macaroni and cheese. Truth. Now, I don't have a "favorite" food. Also truth.

How can two competing truths be true? Because they are relative to the TIME they were valid.

Unless you know everything the people related to it's life story the sittuation in whole basicly everything anyone has ever done you can't say you know the whole truth or the absolute truth it is relative. if you say this person is bad because they killed someone, but lets say the person was being constanly aboused by the one they killed, not arguing self defence, is the truth that they killed someone they are bad. no. but the truth is relative, because knowing everything is impossible. the truth can not be repeated exactly or known to the full extent of it.

Truth is truth! And absolute! Yes! As different and the same as we are,We know truth, and we also know consequence! We Feel and that is Truth! We care, and that is truth, we love, and that is truth, But we also kill, and that is truth! Relative? I do not believe that "we do not know truth'! We Do!
