Traditionally that was the order of the day for conservatives. That was before your time but you can get a clue by reading your history books and asking people who experienced it firsthand. Believe me Georgy Bush Jr. is a liberal by the 1960s standards. Conservative does not mean the same thing as it once did. Everything has been liberalized even the G.O.P. Look at George Jr's lifestyle. His life, his children's, his d.u.i. killer wife. All liberal lifestyles but are Republicans because it looks good and serves their snitty rich lifestyles. I don't think racism is designated to any liberal or conservative. George Wallace was a Democrat and very racist until he got a good dose of hot lead.

Look at the way people were treated after Katrina. There has to be a lot of deep-seated racial hatred to treat other Americans like that.

I refer it as dysfunctional family syndrome.When you grow up in one,you think every family is like that.They are the racists,therefore,they believe that everyone is.

Because many southern republicans are extremely racists. Not so much so in other parts of the US. Southern repubs often start debates with "those people" OR we should nuke the entire region and so on.
