Her brother. 4/8 is 1/2 and that is less than 2/3. And easier way to see it is to turn 4/8 into 12/24 and 2/3 into 16/24. See who has more now?

If her brother's glass is full of orange juice, then her brother because 4/8=1/2. You didn't say if his glass is full of orange juice, so it might be filled with something else, in which cases Lara would have more OJ.

In order to solve this problem, you have to get the two fractions comparable by finding a common denomiantor. Since 8*3=24, 24 is the common denominator. To keep the fractions the same, multiply the numerators by what you multiplied the denominators by to get 24. Using this you get: 4/8=12/24 and 2/3=16/24. Therefore, her brother has more juice.

The brother has more, since 2/3 is more than half. You could also use a common denomenator. Multiply the sister's portion by 3/3 (to get 12/24) and multiply the brother's portion by 8/8 (to get 16/24). Clearly, 16 is more than 12.

4/8? Just say "half" like a normal person :)

First, it depends on how big the glasses are. We are missing crucial information here!

If both of the glasses are the same size then obviously 2/3 is more than a half.
