Radon is not used at all in nuclear reactors and is not an actinide. Uranium is naturally occuring and used in nuclear reactors. If your teacher needs specifics, U-235 is used as a fuel, U-238 is not a fuel, but is converted into Pu-239 (plutonium) which can be purified and also used as a fuel.
