Their average internal temperature is the same (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit), but it can be a little higher because 1) they have faster metabolisms because they're growing so fast, and 2) because they have a slightly harder time regulating their temperatures (especially newborns). But the basic temperature you use to judge is they have a fever or not is the same as ours.

Yes, but they get colder quickly too! I have 4 children. The general idea is when you get dressed you should dress your baby the same and add an extra layer on ! Especially when they are new-born. So, say it's summer - I put my baby in a cute t-shirt and little pants - but she has a singlet on underneath. In winter - the little outfit plus a jacket. Just layer, if baby starts to get sweaty, take some layers off - some babies get hotter than others. You will get to know your baby best.

Babies have a special "function" that makes the body warm up faster and better than an adult's.

i found this out when I heard a survival story. A family was caught in the blistering cold without coats, food, or shelter. The father got his toes removed after they were found, but the baby was perfectly fine - a slight cold I think.

Most of the time thats why they tell you to dress your baby like you dress yourself. Your baby will get a molding looking thing going on their bodys if they are to cold.
