the proper way to fix the burn marks would be to replace the piece of flooring if you have a piece of the flooring and it has a pattern then put the piece you have and line it up with the pattern overlaying the burnt spot then holding it in place use a very sharp razor knife cut out along the pattern larger than the spot you are replacing this way you are matching the pattern underneath as you cut with this done take the piece and put it to the side remembering the way you cut and peel the flooring off the floor or substrate and take the new piece and fit it into it matching the pattern with a dry fit when you are satisfied glue the patch into place other than this you could do what the others have said and try to cover it up with some kinda paint good luck

Freddy b said it best, if you can find the tile or whatever to fit, if not, yes you can paint it, but use the new Krylon paint that is made to bond with plastic. (vinyl is basically plastic) this well actually bond with the material as the other things will just sit on top and come off easily. you could also just not worry about it until it is time to do the entire floor. i mean jeesh what real difference does it make?

try the hobby shops too, they have things that will bond with the vinyl and maybe match the color better. even liquid latex might work, if you can get it to stick. i think getting the marks out then filling the dents with something that will bond the only way to go other than replacing that area of floor covering.

you can try white out, or you can try nail polish and put a clear coat over it.
