ok so im doing this assignment where theres a short excerpt from a story. and i need to write a totally different story but using the same format as in the short excerpt.
This is the sentence from the excerpt:
I wandered listlessly about the room, trying to think of something to do, dreading the return of my mother, resentful of being neglected.
This is what i have so far:
I went slowly around my room, attempting to pick up things off the floor, hurrying before the arrival of my mother, ________________.
Please help me find a way to replace those words in the sentence above, and place it in the blank above.

the new sentence just has to follow according to the topic i wrote and it has to have the same format as the sentence from the short excerpt.

I went steadily pacing my room, thinking of things to do, anticipating mother's return and being told of things (neglected) undone.

fretting over the fact that no matter what she wouldn't be pleased.
worrying even though she wouldn't notice a thing.
bitter in the knowledge that she would show no interest in my effort.
disheartened by the fact that to her I am invisible.

perhaps "angry with being defeated"
does the new sentence have to say the same thing?
