I am an ntl customer in Glasgow and I often feel that my internet is not running at the 4mb its supposed to. What site can I check my speed on? Thanks!

EDIT: Truly there is no right site. The sites listed will give you a general idea what your speeds are running. Usually its said by your ISP that the speed will be up to what ever the limit is, so if they say 4mb then you will never see exactly 4mb. best way is to do a ping test btw.

Ok listen up ! Non of these servers that people have told you will give you True Reading ! , if you dont beleave me try loads servers all over the world and your get differant reading from them all, Iv got 4Mb Line with BT Internet and every where i try it says i got 1-2mb , What you need to do is phone your provider up and they will tell you the best speed test to use.
The Best one i found was this one : Gives you 80 % True Reading

If you are using WinXP down in the system tray on the lower right is two flashing monitors. Hover over the monitors for a few seconds with the mouse pointer and it will tell you your connection speed.

Try http://speakeasy.net/speedtest/ for a great upload/download test.
In the US, http://infospeed.verizon.net/ is also a pretty good tool.
CNET has a bandwidth meter that asks for some basic info
