limewire is a sharing program.
since it automatically shares, all you need to do is take all the files you don't want to share from 'my shared folder' onto some other folder on your computer. you wont lose the files but you also wont share them :D

No, not while you are connected. So be careful when you just x out of it because it will keep you open. Go to it's menu boxes and disconnect when you're done.

Limewire is a shareware program. If everyone did what you wanted to do then you wouldn't be able to get any music from anyone else. Just keep your visits brief and make sure you disconnect once your done. I never leave any songs downloading when I leave. When it prompts that it will close after the downloads, I always say no and disconnect.

Also, as for the moving the songs to different folders, that will work for a little while but if those songs don't remain in your limewire library, then they eventually lose their licensing and you will have to re-download them.

Delete the files from your "Shared" folder. It works for me. Just make sure there somewhere else on your computer so you can get to them but no one on the Limewire network can.
