I just started my own business and would like to know the average going rate for cleaning every 2 weeks fo an average home in central NJ. I was thinking of $20 an hour. Especially for first time cleanings when you know it will be a very big job, and then maybe a "set" price for when it becomes maintainence. Plus I would like to know what other cleaning ladies do as far as what exactly they clean every 2 weeks. Thanks.

I was a house cleaner before I went into medicine. I charged $15 per hour, but mind you, this was about five years ago,so $20/hour sounds fine.

By Room:

Bathroom-
Cleaned the toilet,tub/shower,sink, mirrors, and mopped the bathroom floor.

Kitchen-
Stovetop, sink, outside of fridge, counters, mopped floor and took out the trash.

Bedrooms-
Dusted, vacuumed, cleaned any mirrors in the room.

Living room-
Vacuumed floor, chairs, and couch. Wiped dust off the front of the TV.Dusted the room. Straightened out any magazines on the table.

I'd clean the fridge, cleaned the oven, or washed the windows on request.

Perhaps your charges will have to be centered at the situation and dimension of the residence. Perhaps your consumers don't need to pay management charges simplest the hidden charges to your offerings. You will have to cost for cleansing offerings through the hour. The formulation to estimate what number of hours are had to blank a residence entails the rectangular photos, quantity of occupants, pets, present situation, and the provider asked (fundamental cleansing, deep cleansing or purchaser choice cleansing.) When you furnish a cleansing price estimate, permit for adequate time to entire every activity satisfactorily. Keep in brain that it'll take longer to scrub a residence which has no longer been probably maintained, or a residence which has three pets, four youngsters and a running mother, then the identical dimension residence of a meticulous retired couple who want fundamental protection cleanings.

I clean houses between jobs. I don't charge by the hour.Simply because if you have someone help you clean you get finished sooner and paid less money. I always have a set price...If it takes me 2 hours or 3 hours I still get paid the set price. Even if someone helps me out....I look at the house and give them a set price..the more rooms to clean the higher the rate....

Girls i know clean as a team of 2 in the UK and charge £12 EACH per hour, about $20-$24 each per hour. And not in London, in a northern town where prices are cheaper.

Sounds like your clients are getting a bargain.

I would say $25 per hour, plus expenses (travel, food etc)
