It sounds silly but I might be moving to Canada next year, and - hah, yeah.

They are attainable but they are not in most places and are definitely not in common areas/bathrooms. I don't know if they are over there. Usually, they are installed by people with money who have traveled and know the benefits more first hand, or they are foreigners who are more used to the idea. Americans are just not used to the idea, the toilet paper companies got to us well before the bidet makers did.

So, the answer is, if you'd like to have a bidet installed into your home it is obviously possible. However, don't expect one to be there when you move in.

I don't know about Canada, but generally speaking, in the US we do not have them, that is what toilet paper is for. However, if a person wants a bidet, I am sure he or she could get one installed.

Nope, they are all over Europe.
They are available but they never quite took off as a selling feature for bathrooms in America. I traveled throughout Canada, and I didn't find them there either.

We prefer showers in America, and that's daily and usually wash our hair daily.

When I lived in Europe 4 years, I found most took a shower once a week or two weeks, and washed their hair about every other week. Also the deodorant problem or lack of deodorant was a definite problem, as compared to Americans.

Rich folks and higher priced hotels do, too.

The rest of us make do with showers and bathtubs.

I've always wanted to see a bidet, just to know what they look like, and how they operate. Never have seen one.

YOu may find some here and there, but they are not common. We are big on showering everyday and not using a bidet.

I've only seen them installed in the more upscale hotels in Canada. To be honest I don't even know how a woman is supposed to use it safely. LOL!!
If you're looking to install one, we do have them...look at stores that specialize in (kitchen and) bathrooms, i.e. plumbing.
(Bartle and Gibson's for example.)

You can have one installed in your home, but they are not common. Its a culture thing. North Americans find the idea general dirty.
