I actually heard a priest answer a similar question. I liked the answer. There is nothing wrong with porn in itself. There is nothing wrong with looking at porn. It is like a road to bad place the road itself is neither good or evil it just leads to evil.

Its best just to not go down that road. Doesn't mean if you get on the road you'll wind up in a bad place. But if you stay on it you will.

For all the sex in the media, our culture is actually quite sexually repressed and full of double standards. The oldest example of a double standard is that men who love sex are called studs while women who love sex are called slutts. A sexually promiscuous man is glorified while a sexually promiscuous women is demonized. Why do you think the majority of porn out there is about women? Because men don't have the real thing, most of the time. Men have sexual urges and desires that women have been taught are dirty, nasty, and bad. Women are never taught that it's ok to try these things because we want to be dirty, nasty, and bad too.

Alas, men are not at the whim of society. Some of the problem is created by men themselves. Some men have the idea that they want to marry the girl next door but fuuck the girl at the bar. Women must choose which type of woman they want to be. Being the girl next door will get you married, but being the girl at the bar will get you sexual freedom. Yet, I know some happily married couples where the man met the girl next door at the bar.

If society were to loosen up, to accept sexuality in all its forms, then most of porn would lose its forbidden aspect and become boring; however, sexual freedom is not something that is going to be here in the United States any time soon. If anyone disagrees with that statement, let me remind you that homosexual sex is looked on as an abomination by a great many Americans and that sodomy is against the law in many states.

Obviously, people can do what they please, but I feel porn demeans both men and women. The people are acting, have no feelings. Porn can give you a false Idea of what sex life is about. Most perple don't have three somes and usually the woman is faking it anyway. Br sure you don't have child porn . Look for a nice girlfriend or wife and you won't be so interested in porn. When you watch it, just remember they are faking emotions just so people like you will buy their stuff. It is all orcestrated by a producer. I don't have moral objections with it, just that it can be habit forming, and have unhealthy effects emotionally. They are pretty much all aike anyway.

You want an honest anwer, the part of the brain that porn affect is the cerebal cortex I believe. The pleasure center, the same area that cocaine affects, it's why sex and porn is so addictive. It makes you feel good, even if short lived.
On your relationship, the effect of porn can be devastating... your taking your desire to be intimate and offering it to a picture or movie which requires nothing of you. It's intamacy that should be shared with your partner. Which in turn, should bring you two closer. By denying your partner this intimacy, it brings seperation. I mean be honest how many guys are out there telling thier girl how many times they flog themselves.

It seems most men like porn with women, so I suppose thats 'normal'. His age and the availability of a real woman in his life has got to be taken into consideration too. I think its safe to say that if hes on the net surfing for porn and leaving his signficant other in the bedroom waiting for him, hes got a problem with porn. The fetish, pain, costume, kid, animal and humiliation stuff would be considered weird (and illegal) if he tries it but borderling 'normal' for an occaisonal fantasy.

It makes people reactive to sex, more than they should. You can't browse though google videos for example without coming across really sleazy images and then ideas. Your mind is constantly on the alert, its very off putting. Personally I hate it.
