To get the percent, all you have to do is divide the numerator by the denominator. Once you have a decimal, it should be the precent. All you have to do is include the first to decimal places (example .7524= 75%)

A percentage sign represents "/100". 10% means 10 per 100, or 10/100. 10/100 as a decimal number is 0.10.

To go the other way, start with your fraction, convert to a decimal number, then multiply by 100 to get the %.

1/10 = .10
.10 x 100 = 10%
Round to the nearest 10th is 10.0%

2/3 = .6666
.6666 x 100 = 66.66%
Round to the nearest 10th is 66.7%

2/15=....we'll leave that one for you.

m

PS - some people understand it better explained this way:

2/3 = .667 = 66.7/100 = 66.7%

First you divide the numerator (number on top) by the denominator (bottom number). 1 divided by 10 for example. After dividing, multiply the decimal by 100 or move the decimal point to the left two numbers. After multiplying, round to the nearest tenth by looking at next two numbers which are the hundredths and thousandths. If the hundredths and thousandths places are fify or more, the tenths place is increased by one. If not, then drop the hundredths and thousandths.

2/3 would be:
-2 divided by 3
-0.6666666666666666666.....
-0.66666....x100 = 66.66666....
-0.666666....(66 is greater than 50)
-0.7
-0.7 + 66
Final Answer: 66.7

1/10 = 0.1 Move decimal 2 places to right getting 10%
2/3=.6666 = 66.7%
2/15 = 0.13333 = 13.3%

Moving the decimal point 2 places to the right multiplies the number by 100. So you could also say 1/10 = (1/10)*100 = 10%

it is ok. we all make mistakes. you simply take the 1 tenth and divide the bottom number into the top. when you divide the 10 into the one add a decimal to the right of that one and then add a zero next to that decimal. now when you figure it up it will be 0.1 and you simply use the same method for the others. take the 3 and divide it into the 2 and as you go along you add that decimal and then add zeros as you keep dividing. same goes for the 2 fifteenth.
