Has anyone taken the First Response Pregnancy test one day before period is due, got a negative and then a few days later got a positive? It supposely reads hcg levels much better. Or are my chances of a positve in a few days unlikely? I just took a test 30 mins ago and got a negative my period is suppose to start tomorrow. What are my chances of a positive pregnancy test?

I got a negative on the test I took. But wanted a positive. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm a little confused. Did you get a negative, then a positive, than another negative? Typically you need to wait until after you have missed your period to get an accurate reading on a pregnancy test. If you have gotten different reponses, you may want to contact your doctor for a blood test for an accurate response. If you are nervous to do that, I would suggest taking another test in a day or two, allow yourself a chance to relax and see what happens!

I took the first response pregnancy test the day after I missed my period and it was negative I waited 2 weeks and took an ept and It came up positive.. It doesn't mean that the test doesn't work and the first response can pick up lower levels of hcg but that all depends on your body some ppl have very very low levels of hcg for a while... It could very well be that you aren't pregnant but just wait a few weeks and test again! My cousin showed up negative with all different test until she was 10 weeks pregnant and that includes the blood work so you never really know.. good luck though

With my 4th, I took a pregnancy test 3x. I was scheduled for surgery and needed to not be pregnant to have surger. The first was neg, the second was pos after 30 min. ( don't know why I kept it so long), and the 3rd was neg. Also when I had the pregnancy test done by the hospital it came out neg. Two weeks after my surgery I found out I was preg.
I think the best time to take the test would be if your period is late by a week.
First Response is a good pregnancy test.

I took the first response pregnancy test like three days before my period with my first son it came out positive right away. But if i were u i would wait until i missed my period and then take another they say that negative tests could be wrong.

The first test I took was a dollar store test and it came out positive. I didn't even have to wait the 3 minutes to find out almost right after I took it, it came out positive. Then I took an ept a few days later and it came back positive. The lines were faint on both tests, you have to look at them closely. I went to the health department to make sure the tests were correct. Just wait a few days and take another one. My best friend took several tests and they all came back negative. She had to go to the doctor and have a blood test done to find out for sure. So it could be possible that you are but then again you may not be.

Different people have different degrees of the pregnancy hormone, which is why some people can get a positive result days before their period is due, and some people don't get a positive result till much later.
I know it drives you crazy, but wait a day or two and take another test. Good luck!

Well, since it's the day before your expected period, it's probably pretty accurate.
If you were pregnant, though, it honestly depends on how much of the pregnancy hormone you have in your system. With my first child, it took me literally 1 1/2 months to get a clear positive result. (My first few tests were negative or really really faint...hold it up to the light...positives.)
Hang in there!

I have used that particular test and have never had an incorrect reading.......negative when I wasn't and positive when I was. I know this is probably not the news you were looking for, best of luck.

More than likely you're not pregnant. But then again, you don't know if you're period will come or not. Wait until you missed youre period, then you'll know.
