Good observation. Yes. But the architects of the war back then figured that

a) the Iraqis would greet our troops with open arms and flowers;
b) the insurgency would be a pushover
c) the infrastructure of Iraq would stabilize quickly
d) the sectarian divides would be cordial and not attack each other
e) everyone would be back ASAP, as in the first Gulf War

And all of the above has gone horribly WRONG. Now the delayed increase of troops will be more like putting a band-aid on a ruptured artery. I pray for our soldiers, and curse our so-called "leaders" for this disaster.
