I'm dating a guy, he emailed me last weekend and I emailed him back inviting him to come over to my house this weekend. I live about 2 hours away but he has come over before. Well he wrote back and said let's play it by ear because he has a suspicious he has plans but is not sure, but he thinks he is free, etc. Is this weird? Do you think he's lying? Did he really "forget" if he had plans or not? Or he is keeping me as a backup plan in case something better comes up??

He's definitely not married. I've been to his house, no wife or kids there.

He probably is lying but you may never know, if u guys are dating I dont see why he cant come chill with u and do whatever he does later sometime, I take it u guys dont see each other often so he really shouldn't have to think about it he should just come down to see u. Play it by ear huh? yeah whatever tell him that's ok, something has came up and never mind the visit he'll probably get down there so fast under those circumstances(lol)

I think he wants to see you but the drive sucks. If something else comes up that's better he will probably not show up. give the guy a break though, 2 hours there, 2 hours back. I'm sure he likes you, but the distance might get in the way.

It could go either way. I have often responded with a "let me check the date and get back to you" when I think there might be something going on that I just can't remember at the time. I wouldn't normally be suspicious of someone saying that.

He may possibly have to work or have some obligation, he also may be keeping you as a back up. Ask him to be more specific because if he isn't going to come up you want to make other plans.

It sounds fishy to me. Either you know you have plans or you know that you don't. Why don't you ask him what his "plans" are. If he hesitates, doesn't know for sure, stutters, etc., he's proably lying about it.

Go with your gut. If you question it, I say something is up. However I think all men suck, all are liars, etc....
