It is incredible the comments made against this country of mine, the fact is most of these people that seem to hate America why don't they leave? They ridicule the fact that we won the wars WWII, like we were wrong to win? What did they want the torturing Emperor of Japan to rule, who sent his own soldiers to their deaths(Kamikazis)? The fact that we did not have to go to the extent of rebuilding their country but we did? Why ? Because we were humane. The Germans the same thing a cruel inhumane dictator who executed 11 million innocent people? And people say that was okay? I feel there are too many of these people here in America, that are anti our government and I think it should be a crime?

This question is not meant to stife anyones beliefs, and obviously I am allowing rebuttal but i am doing a study and many people have stated that they hate America on this Yahoo answers in abundance, that is fine, then I want to know why? And if they want to change it why not be intelligent and form a platform legally and try to present their cases in the lobby in this government and then to the House, Senate, and Congress?
If we are so bad why are you allowed to do that, protest and or pass a bill? There is no country on this earth that has a better government than America, and yet everyone complains, but no one does anything to straighten out this government after all why not help the situation intelligently. We have many flaws yes but help the situation don't tear it apart. That would only cause war eventually.

Magime,
Be ready for one of two responses: absolute silence from the Liberal sector OR absolute emotionalism devoid of reality based facts and empirical evidence.
You are indeed right. How can a good, free, and wonderful country as ours; with all its natural blessings and goodness, produce such vile Liberal citizens.
It is a riddle wrapped in a paradox inside an enigma, as Churchill said.
You are to be commended for asking the question.

It is more anti-American than anything I have ever heard from a liberal for you to say that any kind of political speech aside from sedition is a crime. Even most seditious language is protected. (So why don't YOU leave?) Some people think that I am a liberal (incorrectly), while it is true that I espouse many liberal ideas. I have never heard anyone except wannabe fascist skinhead children support the practices or governments of Japan or Germany at the time of WWII. I often criticize the American people, but I do not feel it is undeserved or that the character of even perhaps a majority of people now harbor the original American ideals. The great thing about America is that we are allowed to disagree.

First off your "study" is flawed since it assumes that everyone you hear say they hate America is 1) liberal and 2) American. So right off you got yourself a problem.
Second, while I'm sure you would like to think we rebuilt Japan and Germany out of pure altruistic reasoning, the fact is they were rebuilt and made allies to combat the growing Communistic threat. Some historical papers and records seem to point to the possibility that the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings were done more as a warning to Russia than an attempt to stop the Japanese homeland landings.
Third, I don't know what circles you are running in, but I don't know anyone (liberal, conservative, or otherwise) that doesn't think Germany and more specifically Hitler needed to be stopped and that the Holocaust was horrific. Unless of course you have been chatting with neo-Nazis.
Fourth, this is not only this country of yours, but this country of 300 million others. They have a right to their opinion, and if that sticks in your craw, you are welcome to go to countries that make sure opposing view points aren't heard...like Iran, and North Korea (or Nazi Germany).

LOL Not all liberals hate their country, I know some that don't. I think since the sixties its the "cool" thing to hate your country and blame America for everything. Its funny how on here some people get so mad for you asking the question and then say things like you don't believe in free speech. LOL That makes no sense to me. Much of the I hate America crowd seem to be just parroting what they hear from pop stars. I know a guy that positively hates Gearge Bush but when you ask him why he can't really tell you. Its just fun and easy to blame America when one doesn't really know why things are the way they are.

Magime,
I am a self-proclaimed liberal, and I do not by any means hate America. I am grateful to be so fortunate to live in a country of luxury and freedom while billions of others in this world must live in poverty and social and political strife.
Perhaps to your surprise, I agree with you. It is naive and absurd for so many uninformed people to claim their hatred for this country. EVERY government has its issues. Our is certainly not perfect, but far from it. However, I have traveled abroad, and our system of government ranks first class compared to many systems in the world struggling in the aftermath of coups and chaos.
I think the people we have all heard proclaim hatred for this country have no realistic idea of world governments. Most of these people are just naive or misinformed and instead of chiding them, we should be educating them.
I hope you can appreciate the fact that liberals come in variety just as conservatives. Liberalism, despite what propaganda may promise you, does not equal anti-americanism. I love America, I am proud of America's history, but that doesn't mean that I have to wear a flag or intentionally proclaim patriotism just to prove to others that I am not 'anti-american'.
I have respect for all countries and peoples of the world, and although I think highly of my country and feel so fortunate to be an American citizen, I will not impose my culture on others nor will I say that America is 'the best' nation in the world. Only with extensive knowledge of every nation in the world could anyone even attempt to make that claim without being blatantly arrogant and narrow-minded.

Liberals like liberty that's why they are called liberals.
The present US government has passed laws taking away some of the liberties of its citizens on the grounds of security scares, liberties for which many american citizens have died to presrve in past conflicts.
That is why the present administration is so despised by people who believe in democracy and freedom.
If you want to make opposition to government a crime you will end up with the same situation as the Soviet Union and have to open vast prison camps to accommodate those who oppose tyranny.

The U.S. assisted the Germans and Japanese for obvious selfish reasons. So Liberals are anti-american because they attempt to speak the truth, and do not accept Republican lies like docile lambs? Liberals are the most loyal of all Americans because they say the truth. The liers of the conservative parties harm America by failing to accept what is true and dealing with it.
You can't help America by concealing the truth about the war in Iraq or any other matter!

I would like to know if you are asking a historical question, or one pertaining to the politics and government of America today. America in a historical setting of course led a noble fight in WW2. One that certainly needed to be won. But contrast that to today. A president who says he's listening to his field commanders, and then replaces those who disagree with him with yes men. FDR was ridiculed as a traitor to his class because of his social programs, "W" is widely considered to be the worst president for social programs in our history, personal opinion, second only to Reagan. We have a president that won't listen to anyone who won't pony up large sums of cash to the republican party, or blindly nod his head in agreement to his preconcieved notions. The level of corruption in American government today is, again in my opinion, staggering. We have a government that until this new year refused to step up to their own job of political oversight, and created a presidency, that some are calling a step away from dictatorship. A congress that was so bad they worked only 2 or 3 days a week, and refused to even consider a bill suggesting an alternate viewpoint. Anytime a minority leader wanted to hold a hearing that the majority didn't care about they were religated to a basement room with no facilities or use. Minority members were regularly barred from participating in their own committees. Bills were brought to votes in the wee hours of the morning when most were asleep just so nobody would be watching. "W" signed bills, and then wrote signing statements that basically said the provisions of this bill don't apply to me.
I am proudly a liberal. To me that means respecting the fact that America is made up of people form all walks of life. And these all have to be respected. No not respected, celebrated. Not made to conform to some idealized notion of what a "good" American should be. My humanity means that we spend our hard won tax dollars for the betterment of ALL americans, not just a privilaged elite few. And we help the world to become truly a better place, not just another place where the rich can get richer. Contrast that with the war porfiteering going on daily today. Contrast that with Reagans and "W"s trickle down theory of economics which only means that the ungodly rich need to be made richer so that just maybe they might aquiess to let a few dollars wander down to us "po folk" shlepping around at the bottom of the economic ladder. Contrast that with those who worked tirelessly to form unions and trade groups that had the political clout to stand up to big government and big business and demand proper wages and working conditions for every American. I don't hate America. There's absolutely no where else on the planet I'd rather live. But America isn't, and shoudn't be a passive place politically. Every person that calls themself an American needs to be engaged in the political process. At least to the point that they cast an informed vote when called upon, and communicate with their representatives to let them know the will of the people they represent. We're supposed to all be in this together. I'm not anti America, I'm anti anyone who would take our precious nation and trash it for their own personal greed. I'm anti anyone who claims to love America, but actively segregates the majority of the population from engaging in the countries future. Don't ask those who disagree with you politically to leave. Ask them to live up to the goals and ideals of our founding fathers, and our founding documents. And then do the same yourself.

I believe that conservative Americans are anti-America in that they don't support some of the freedoms that our nation is built on, such as freedom of personal choice.
Also, I don't believe anyone likes war or the death associated with it. I am proud of the role we played in WWII, because the outcome looked pretty bleak until we entered the picture. WWII is what made America a world power.
And please attempt to sound educated if you decide to start a political flame war like this question is bound to be.
Thank you.
